What enables our delivery. Investing beyond partnerships.

No partner delivers in isolation. Every project is powered by a strategic network of tools, research, and partnerships. Beyond these, Cadran builds the future of industrial innovation through its own manufacturing, investments, and incubation initiatives.

What we Build, Back, and Incubate

Partnerships explain what enables our delivery today. The activities below explain how Cadran invests in the wider industrial ecosystem — by manufacturing, backing strategic ventures, and incubating the next generation of engineers.

Cadran Industries

Cadran Industries is the manufacturing arm of the Cadran group. Founded over a decade ago in Cluj-Napoca, it delivers end-to-end metal fabrication — from engineering and design through manufacturing, surface treatment, and final assembly. The business is ISO 9001-, ISO 14001-, and ISO 45001-certified, with welding processes certified to EN ISO 15614-1, 9606-1, 14732, and 17660.

Relationship

Sister company within the Cadran group of companies

what they make
capabilities
Construction & infrastructure products
Laser cutting (Bystronic 3.3 kW, 1500 × 3000 mm), Profile cutting up to 500 mm diameter
Custom industrial machines & components
Metal bending (Bystronic 100-ton press, 3,000 mm bending length)
Modular data centers & container solutions
MIG/MAG welding for complex assemblies, 6-ton crane for heavy structures
Steel products, metal furniture, urban infrastructure
Industrial sandblasting (12.5 × 4.5 × 4.5 m booth), Multi-booth industrial coating, Mechanical assembly

Why it matters

Few industrial AI consultancies can claim physical manufacturing under the same brand family. When Cadran Technologies talks about manufacturing operations, modular data centers, or industrial machinery, that knowledge is grounded in a sister company that has been delivering it for ten years.

BraveX Aero

BraveX Aero produces long-range VTOL drones in Europe. Cadran's leadership, including co-founder and Advisor Claudiu Abrudan, is strategically involved in technology and production. Their 16-person team specializes in aviation engineering, mechatronics, composites, and aerospace law.

Relationship

Strategic involvement by Cadran leadership

what they make
capabilities
aircraft platform
Fixed-wing + VTOL, Carbon, fiberglass and Kevlar composite construction, 3.85 m wingspan
performance
Electric propulsion, 3.5+ hours flight time, 7–10 kg payload capacity, 25–33 kg max takeoff weight
use cases

trusted by
Romanian Ministry of National Defense, Aresia, Orange Romania (Orange Fab), Romaero, UniqThings (Germany), Backed by EIT Urban Mobility (EU)

Why it matters

Cadran’s leadership doesn’t just advise clients on industrial innovation — they invest in building it. BraveX demonstrates that the people running Cadran have skin in the game when it comes to European industrial sovereignty, aerospace manufacturing, and the future of defense and critical infrastructure technology.

Project RIVER (ROSPIN)

Project RIVER (Romanian Innovative Vehicle for Exploration and Research) is a 12-student robotics team from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN). They are developing a planetary rover for the European Rover Challenge, operating under the Romanian Space Initiative (ROSPIN).

Cadran supports RIVER on two fronts. First, we provide the team with operational physical infrastructure — a working environment where they can design, prototype, build, and test the rover ahead of the August 2026 on-site competition. Second, Cadran engineers contribute technical mentoring across mechatronics, control systems, software engineering, and project management.

Relationship

Operational infrastructure + technical mentoring

what they make
capabilities
Q3–Q4 2025
Design and prototype the rover
December 2025
Pass the Critical Design Review
Q1–Q2 2026

Why it matters

RIVER students represent Romania's future industrial and aerospace engineers. As Cadran's partner in AI4INNO, UTCN collaborates on integrated AI research. Incubating RIVER strengthens this research bond, providing early-career engineers with practical experience solving industrial challenges.

An Ecosystem we invest In

Our engagement—from VDMA membership and IMI research to sister manufacturing operations, aerospace ventures, and rover team incubation—is a deliberate investment in industrial credibility. We embed ourselves in these ecosystems because effective industrial AI requires active participation in the industries we serve and build for.
